WELCOME TO LINDA KING'S PAGE!
About me... I was raised in a small town in south western Montana. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and the close association with friends and family. I am married with four grown (and married) children. Right now I have six grandchildren that keep me hopping every second!
I teach...
Language arts - This is a required, full-year survey of literature (poetry, literary work, informational text, short stories, etc.), conventions (grammar, punctuation, spelling, and language structure), writing (essays, letters, stories, research papers, etc.), speaking (yes, you will be speaking in front of a group), listening, and critical thinking strategies.
Secondary Reading - Sometimes we reach a time in our lives when we realize some of the skills that we have been taught have not been mastered. In reading upper-level text, all readers need solid foundational skills taught at the lower levels in order to comprehend upper-level text. Following simple instructions is such a simple concept for some, but for those who have poor reading skills, it becomes a nightmare. This reading class is designed to enhance the foundational reading skills for all readers. It is a research-based reading program called "REWARDS". This program, mixed with high interest level reading materials will help students feel confident and successful with their reading skills.
Most of the school policies and information you need can be found in the student handbook. This is located at the beginning of the student planner that was given out at the beginning of the school year. I strongly suggest that you and your child check Power School at least twice a week in an effort to track success!
